Cesanta Mongoose mg_http_get_proto_data Function Use-After-Free Vulnerability [CVE-2018-20354]

A vulnerability in Cesanta Mongoose could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.

The vulnerability is due to a use-after-free condition that exists in the mg_http_get_proto_datafunction of the affected software that occurs during a “return”. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting crafted requests to the targeted system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a DoS condition on a targeted system.The vendor has not confirmed the vulnerability, and software updates are not available.
