A security researcher from Paris known as Benkow has discovered an open and accessible web server hosted in the Netherlands that contains dozens of text files. The files contain a huge batch of email addresses, passwords, and email servers used to send spam.
The files contain E-mail addresses, passwords and SMTP servers and ports which are spread across the tens of gigabytes of files.
What Is In the Lists ?
The list contains Email addresses. Lots of email addresses used to deliver spam to. In some cases, a single file may contain tens or even hundreds of millions of addresses.
Email addresses and passwords. They are used in an attempt to abuse the owners’ SMTP server in order to deliver spam. They may also be taken from previous website attacks/breaches.
How Do I Check If My E-mail Address Is On The List ?
The data has now been made searchable on the site Have I Been Pwned this website is self funded and is operated by Troy Hunt a Microsoft Regional Director and MVP.
