OpenSSL Digital Signature Algorithm Timing Side-Channel Attack Vulnerability [CVE-2018-0734]

A vulnerability in the Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) in OpenSSL could allow a local attacker to access sensitive information on a targeted system.

The vulnerability is due to an unspecified condition that exists when the affected software uses the DSA. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to conduct a timing side-channel attack on an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to recover the private key, which could be used to conduct further attacks.

OpenSSL has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
