Apache Hadoop yarn User Escalation Arbitrary Root Command Execution Vulnerability [CVE-2018-11766]

A vulnerability in Apache Hadoop could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges on a targeted system.The vulnerability is due to improper security restrictions that are imposed by the affected software. An attacker who can escalate to yarn user access could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges on a targeted system. A successful exploit could result in a complete system compromise.Apache has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
