BT Cloud to close down as it warns customers – all information will be deleted

BT is discontinuing its BT Cloud service in the next few months, which enables users to back up their photos and videos at no additional cost. BT has sent messages to all users which warn them they must find a new service because “all information will be deleted”. The BT Cloud service was added as a bonus service with its broadband packages.

In a statement BT said “From 31st October 2024, our BT Cloud will close, and all information will be deleted, We’ll start reaching out to customers to let them know that the BT Cloud is closing and advise them to download/move their data. Users can continue backing up data on the service for now but on September 9th it’ll become read-only, meaning you can only access existing uploads but you can’t add anymore.”

Alternatives to BT Cloud

  • Google Drive – 15GB
  • Microsoft OneDrive – 5GB
  • Apple iCloud – 5GB
  • Amazon – 5GB
