BBC’s First Live 5G Broadcast Fails
Super fast 5G has arrived and the BBC decided to give it a try live from the test area in central London.
The BBC’s Clive Myrie was attempting to talk to a reporter about the launch of 5G whilst using the technology to broadcast live from central London, but the network cut out. The presenter apologised to viewers saying, ‘I’ll have to interrupt you because bizarrely the 5G line isn’t working properly’.
5G is expected to be able to reach speeds in excess of 1Gb/s (1000Mbit/s) quite comfortably in its early stages. Many experts expect that it will be able to hit speeds of 10Gb/s (10000Mbit/s) eventually – that’s 100 times faster than standard 4G, and 30 times faster than advanced 4G standards like LTE-A.
