dhcpcd dhcp.c DHO_OPTSOVERLOADED Read Overflow Vulnerablity [CVE-2019-11579]

A vulnerability in dhcpcd could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access sensitive information on a targeted system.

The vulnerability exists because the affected software, as defined in the src/dhcp.c source code file, does not properly perform memory operations with DHO_OPTSOVERLOADED, which could result in a one-byte read overflow memory operation error. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending requests that submit malicious input to the affected system.
