libssh2 SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_REQUEST Packet Handling Out-of-Bounds Read Vulnerability [CVE-2019-3862]

A vulnerability in libssh2 could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access sensitive information or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.The vulnerability is due to the improper parsing of SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_REQUEST packets that contain an exit status message, but no payload, by the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_REQUEST packet to the targeted system. A successful exploit could result in an out-of-bounds read condition, allowing the attacker to access sensitive information or cause a DoS condition.libssh2 confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
