Flatpak TIOCSTI seccomp Filter Bypass Vulnerability [CVE-2019-10063]

A vulnerability in Flatpak could allow a local attacker to bypass sandbox protections on a targeted system.The vulnerability exists because the affected software does not use the seccomp filter to prevent sandbox applications from using TIOCSTI IOCTL. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a malicious request to the targeted system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to escape sandbox protections and conduct further attacks.Proof-of-concept (PoC) code that demonstrates an exploit of this vulnerability is publicly available.Flatpak has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
