JForum create user Function User Enumeration Vulnerability [CVE-2019-7550]

A vulnerability in JForum could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to access sensitive information on a targeted system.The vulnerability exists in the create user function of the affected software and is due to the way the software handles messages based on username validity. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending mass register/check/username?username= requests to the targeted system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to access sensitive information, such as valid usernames, to enumerate within the customer environment.Proof-of-concept (PoC) code that demonstrates an exploit of this vulnerability is publicly available.JForum has not confirmed the vulnerability, and software updates are not available.
