Apache Oozie XML Construction User Impersonation Vulnerability [CVE-2018-11799]

A vulnerability in Apache Oozie could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct a user impersonation attack on a targeted system.The vulnerability is due to improper access controls within the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by constructing an XML that results in workflows running in another user’s name. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to impersonate a targeted user and conduct additional attacks.Apache has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
