Most Reliable Hosting Company Sites in July 2018

Here we take a look at the most reliable hosting company sites in July 2018 as reported by Netcraft.

In July 2018 GoDaddy had the most reliable hosting company website, with zero failed requests and the fastest average connection time of 5ms. This is the second time GoDaddy has been top in 2018. GoDaddy provides a wide range of hosting and domain registration services, including its website builder software which is designed to give small businesses a web presence.

As well as GoDaddy, four of the other most reliable hosting company websites for July also achieved 100% uptime with no failed requests, and so have been ranked based on their average connection times.

Rackspace returned to the top 10, making a fifth appearance so far in 2018. Rackspace offers a range of managed dedicated & cloud hosting solutions from datacentres located on four continents as well as management services for customers using other cloud platforms such as OpenStack, Azure, or AWS.

Hyve Managed Hosting maintained its place as the third most reliable website, closely followed by Swishmail and Pair Networks. Multacom makes an appearance in the top 10 for the first time in 2018.

Of the sites Netcraft monitor, all three served by FreeBSD made the top 10. The other seven of the top 10 hosting sites were served by web-servers running Linux.

Netcraft measures and makes available the response times of around twenty-five leading hosting providers’ sites. The performance measurements are made at fifteen minute intervals from separate points around the internet, and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.

From a customer’s point of view, the percentage of failed requests is more pertinent than outages on hosting companies’ own sites, as this gives a pointer to reliability of routing, and this is why we choose to rank our table by fewest failed requests, rather than shortest periods of outage. In the event the number of failed requests are equal then sites are ranked by average connection times.

Information on the measurement process and current measurements is available.
