libcgroup umask Configuration Information Disclosure Vulnerability [CVE-2018-14348]
CVE Number – CVE-2018-14348
A vulnerability in the libcgroup library could allow a local attacker to access sensitive information on a targeted system.
The vulnerability exists because the cgrulesengd daemon used by the affected software creates the /var/log/cgred file with insecure permissions regardless of umask settings. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to access sensitive information on a targeted system. A successful exploit could be use to conduct further attacks.
The vendor has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
