ClamAV PDF Object Length Check Denial of Service Vulnerability [CVE-2018-0361]
CVE Number – CVE-2018-0361
A vulnerability in ClamAV could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.
The vulnerability exists because the affected software does not perform a PDF object length check. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user on the targeted system to open a file. The affected software could take an unreasonable amount of time to parse even a small file, which could result in a DoS condition.
ClamAV confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.

To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have local access to the targeted system or persuade a user to open a file by using misleading language and instructions.
