What Is tiny.cc [RESOLVED]

tiny.cc is a web address shortening service, it allows you to shorten a URL.    It is a genuine service.

Most people who share shortened URLs do so because of convenience, but an ill-intentioned third party could easily set up a TinyURL that redirects to a malicious website.  It is also a way for the sender to track if the URL has been accessed and how many times.

These generic URL short domains are used by millions of people, including spammers to share malware, phishing content and any sort of illegal stuff.  Anyone can create an account and create a short link for free and it’s really difficult to check every single link that has been created.

In the terms and conditions it states “Tiny is a free service, supported by Ad revenue and donations. It is provided without warranty of any kind. There are no guarantees that it will be available at any given time, and no guarantees that the site or service will not be subject to interruptions. All direct or indirect risk related to use of this site is borne entirely by you, the user.

A domain check of tiny.cc shows the site is malicious, this maybe because the site is been misused.
