WAGO PFC200 Series 3S CoDeSys Runtime Unauthorized Access Vulnerability

A vulnerability in WAGO PFC200 Series devices running 3S CoDeSys Runtime could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to a targeted device.

The vulnerability is due to improper security restrictions imposed by the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted TCP packets, via TCP port 2455, to a targeted device. An exploit could allow the attacker to gain unauthorized access to the device, which could result in a complete system compromise.

WAGO has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.

  • To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must send crafted TCP packets to the targeted device via TCP port 2455, which is open by default. Administrators are advised to restrict network access to affected devices, allowing only trusted systems and users.
