What Is s0.2mdn.net Does This Site Host Malware [RESOLVED]

The domain 2mdn.net and s0.2mdn.net are owned and used by Google.  It is used for Google Ads – Lookup of domain owner here 

When you do a Google search for this domain a lot of stuff that shows up that seems to relate to malware (see image below) With topics like “How to delete S0.2mdn.net pop-up completely from your system” and “How to delete S0.2mdn.net pop-up completely from your system” and “s0.2mdn.net Removal Technique” and “How to Remove s0.2mdn.net (Chrome/Edge/Firefox)” the list goes on…

The above examples take you to websites that want you to download (fake) software that will remove this, or ask you to run a tool to scan your PC for this, and any other random stuff you search for, they seem to have a fix for it !  Do not visit such sites or click any links on them, they will probably infect your PC with malware or a virus.

This site is NOT malware, it is just used to show adverts.  It is highly unlikely that you have been infected by malware from a Google Adsense advert.

You may also find lots of reference to this in your proxy server or firewall logs.  This is because most website host Google Ads and therefore there is a lot of requests to this domain.  It will probably appear in your top sites lists, alongside other ad and tracking code used by Google.

The site used to be owned by DoubleClick ad network, but Google now owns this.
