USB 3.0 on the way
Computer Intel has announced details of USB 3.0, the next generation of the universal serial bus interface.  Nicknamed SuperSpeed USB, USB 3.0 is expected to hit the market in 2010 and will be capable of transferring data at a rate of up to 4.8Gbps, well in excess of USB 2.0 speeds.

IT Network Glitches cause Heathrow Terminal 3 To Stall
Computer he chaos and confusion around the launch of Heathrow's Terminal 5 might be long gone but it did not prevent Heathrow Terminal 3 from grinding to a halt yesterday afternoon due to issues happening to the baggage and check-in system. The terminal, operated by BAA, was hit by a computer glitch and caused nearly 6000 passengers to be left stranded outside the building.

Thousands of freeview set-top boxes obsolete

Thousands of people had to invest in new digital television equipment in order to keep watching their favourite programmes after a Freeview upgrade rendered 1% of its set-top boxes obsolete. Freeview warned customers about the three month upgrade work through local newspapers and radio.

Gangs are developing technology to steal customers' bank details from inside retail chip and pin machines, police have warned. The new scam came to light when police raided an alleged card fraud factory in Birmingham on Monday.
